Help us get onto The Ellen DeGeneres Show

The Ellen DeGeneres Show is an American television talk show hosted by comedian/actress Ellen DeGeneres. It is an hour long show that runs five days a week and covers a wide variety of topics from the lighthearted to the very serious. The show is viewed by millions of people across the globe.

Ellen has publicly condemned the Canadian seal hunt and has been very vocal in her support for animal rights and welfare. She was named PETA’s “Woman of the year” in 2009.

Over the years, the Namibian seal hunt (regarded as the cruelest slaughter on earth) has been completely overshadowed by the Canadian hunt and consequently has received very little media attention. We believe that with YOUR help we can change this.

Ellen is on the lookout for people who have shown remarkable acts of kindness to appear as guests on her show. She is looking for people whose actions have moved you. We ask that you consider Patrick Dickens, our campaign manager and the founder of our organization as one such individual.

You can nominate Pat for the Ellen Show by CLICKING HERE

Once you have filled out your details, you will be asked to tell your story to motivate your nomination. You can either write your own or simply copy and paste ours listed in italics below. Obviously, the more people who submit a nomination the greater our chances of exposing the brutal Namibian seal hunt for what it is.

I wish to nominate Patrick Dickens as a person whose actions have moved me. Pat resigned from a well paid job in the corporate world and began campaigning relentlessly to save the seals of Namibia from the annual seal hunt. He started a non-profit organization called The Seals Of Nam ( which brings the stench of the Namibian seal massacre to the nostrils of an indignant world. Patrick spends long days and nights raising awareness as to the plight of these helpless creatures which are listed on Appendix II of CITES.

In his unwavering commitment to end the slaughter, Pat has staged international protests, provided logistical support to Sea Shepherd, has made representation to the Namibian government and even been banned from the country.

Although the Namibian Animal Protection Act specifically outlaws the beating of any animal, the government has ruled that a seal is not classified as an animal and is thus not afforded any protections from the Act. Patrick is fighting a government and without massive exposure to support his organization may sadly not succeed.

The Namibian seal hunt is the largest slaughter of wildlife in Africa and is regarded as the cruelest slaughter on earth. It brings shame on us all. Every creature has a right to life, and I hope you get this email and are able to help The Seals Of Nam create a global outcry so as to put a stop a barbaric, iniquitous and inexcusable act of cruelty. Kind regards,
